Carpeting Home

What can I do about carpeting that's come loose on stairs?

The carpeting has come away from the back of one of my stairs and now it's loose on that stair...can I just "tack" it back into the crease?

  1. don't use a tack they are short and will come out easy use a long nail and nail it back down. hope that helped
  2. No, no, before you fix it play some kind of practical joke on your friends.
  3. Yes you can tack it back into the crack using a staple gun if you like.
  4. Get yourself a knee pad, kick the carpet back into place, (restretch it) then, with a rubber mallet, pound it back into place. If that does not work, then you need a new tack board for that side. Hope this helps you.
  5. Yes. Least expensive way to deal with it.
  6. Glue it, Screw it or nail it. Whatever is easier for you.
  7. If you don't want to see staples or nails, make a small hole in the carpet at regular intervals an inject a little bit of silicon in there and then put a weight on to hold it down until it dries!
  8. use several tacks to reattach the carpet
  9. you can buy carpet tacks, but will hit your thumb a lot! try to barrow a staple gun and tack it down with that. good luck.
